My
Story
When I was a kid, I kept an “inventor’s journal” full of sketches and ideas.
If something I wanted didn’t exist, I’d try to make it.
Looking back, it's that same curiosity that led me to study mechanical engineering.
I thought it would give me the tools to become an inventor—and in many ways it did.
I learned the technical skills, how to work with materials, and how to design things that last. But engineering classes were mostly about math and physics, not design.
Design is where I get to be creative and explore the ways in which I can solve problems.
As an engineering student, I had access to professors who could answer all my questions, and lab spaces where I could build anything I wanted. These opportunities helped me build my skills as a designer, and gave experience that I can draw on for my current and future projects.
As I develop this skill for myself, then I can build to share the process with others… to bring their dreams into the material world.
